Abstract
This research is motivated by the need for information technology in the business world to
be more efficient, scalable and flexible. One application in the business world is the Point of
Sales (POS) application. There are still many small and medium businesses that still use the
traditional sales system, the process is neither efficient nor effective. This research is a type
of Research & Development (R&D) which aims to produce an Android-based point of sale
application (POS Mobile) for the "KJ" shop, which is an SME selling clothing business in
Tabanan. The application developed in this study has the ability to handle transaction
activities, manage stock, and generate financial reports. The method used to develop
applications is the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with a prototype development
model. The prototype development model has five stages: (1) needs analysis, (2) system
design, (3) prototype development, (4) system testing, (5) implementation. POS Mobile
accesses the database on the hosting server through the Application Program Interface
(API). The POS Mobile application is created using Android Studio Dolphin 2021.3.1,
transaction data is stored in a MySQL database, and the Application Program Interface
(API) is created using the PHP programming language. Application testing is carried out
using the black box testing method, and the test results state that all application functions
have been running well.
